The New York Diet and the Ketogenic diet are two lifestyle trends that continue to be popular across the country.

Both diets carry promises of improved health, as well as weight loss and potentially longer-term health benefits. For some individuals, combining the two diets together could be the ideal way to get the most out of both.

The New York Diet is based on the idea of using locally-sourced and minimally-processed foods, including plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and whole foods in the form of grains, nuts, and legumes. The diet is also focused on homestyle, home-cooked meals that are high in natural nutrition and flavor.

The Ketogenic Diet, on the other hand, is focused on reducing the intake of carbs, which in turn triggers the body to use stored body fat for energy. This means the Ketogenic diet often restricts the intake of fruits, grains, and other starchy carbohydrates in order to induce ketosis, the metabolic state in which fat is broken down into ketone bodies.

It is possible to combine the New York Diet and the Ketogenic Diet, although it may take some adjustments to the diets to make it work.

The key to making the combination successful is to find a way to get adequate natural nutrition while focusing on proteins and fats as the primary sources of calories while minimizing the intake of starchy carbohydrates. This can be accomplished by focusing heavily on natural proteins, such as eggs and lean meats while avoiding processed foods and reducing the intake of sugar and other starchy carbohydrates.

For those interested in incorporating some of the Ketogenic Diet’s benefits into their New York Diet, there are also options available such as the Mediterranean-Ketogenic Diet, which focuses on using legumes, nuts, and low-glycemic vegetables as sources of carbohydrates, while still limiting the intake of starchy carbohydrates.

Overall, combining the New York Diet with the Ketogenic Diet could be a great way to get the benefits of both diets while still retaining the enjoyment of wholesome meals. It’s important to keep in mind that the combination of these two diets should be personalized depending on individual needs and preferences.

Additionally, it’s important to speak with an experienced healthcare professional before making any drastic changes to decide if the combination of the two diets is the best option for an individual.
